What are ATS friendly resumes?

An applicant tracking system (ATS) is software used by recruiters to screen the many applications they may receive for an advertised position. It is software designed to compare a
job applicant’s resume to the keywords contained in a job description for a particular role. Put simply, better matching equates to increased likelihood of shortlisting (and reading of one’s resume by a recruiter). There are other factors, though, which make a resume more or less ATS friendly, including:
Formatting of one’s resume, which should be standardised and simple
Use of common naming conventions for titles and subtitles
Inclusion of skill keywords which are relevant to the industry and role
Use of PDF documents so to maintain their structure and look as intended
The resume writers at Reset Resumes have many years of experience in producing resumes which are indeed ATS friendly and well-received by all the most commonly used ATS systems (including Workday, SAP Success Factors, and Workable). Our resumes are consistently amongst the 25% of those which pass ATS systems and make it into the hands of hiring managers for closer consideration.
